"Just had 2 great days guiding John Synnuck and Paul Tyrrell for pike on the fly on Chew Valley Lake. Day 1 was bright, windy and John lost one big 20lb+ fish.
Day 2 saw a return to cloudy, cooler weather and the pike turned on with a real vengeance.
John had pike of 25:08, 19:04, 9:04 and 5:00. Paul had his PB of 17:04 plus another at 9:08 and a small jack.
When they left, I decided to stay on and see if they still wanted a fly during the evening. I had a 16:04, 17:08 and finished off with a 20:08 cracker.
It seems like the pike are now feeding well on Chew and the dissolved oxygen levels are very good. The fish are going back really well too - probably better than I see them go back during the colder weather later in the season. "
