Not easy fishing at present but fish being caught in the deep water around the dam at both Chew and Blagdon.
Long leaders with d'bach's, hares ears and damsels all worth a try. Occasional rising fish on the lakes when overcast. Fresh rain shower Wednesday helped bring fish up on top although water temperatures are now steadily over 20C at most of the lakes.
Some respectable catches from the boats at Chew recently with reports of good numbers of fish being caught from both the boat and bank around Walley.
Blagdon bank fishing has been tough but the weed has been cut around Green lawn providing bank anglers with some respectable sport in this area. Boat anglers are finding fish tight in to the dam and around the aerators. Few fish holding up the top end near the stream entrance where some cooler water is concentrating fish.
All of the lakes have received recent stockings with Barrow tanks receiving 800 fresh fish yesterday. We hope this may spur some of the fish to feed although with surface water temps as high as 25/26C in the margins on the tanks it hasn't been easy.
